Gormsey Parish Council's Annual Christmas Extravaganza

Gormsey Parish Council is thrilled to announce its much-anticipated Annual Christmas Extravaganza, set to light up the town centre on December 15th. This festive event promises to be a magical evening filled with joy, laughter, and holiday cheer for residents of all ages.

Event Highlights:

  • Christmas Market: From 3 PM, the town centre will transform into a bustling Christmas market. Local artisans and vendors will offer a variety of unique gifts, handmade crafts, and delicious seasonal treats. It's the perfect place to find that special gift or indulge in some festive goodies.

  • Santa's Grotto: Children can visit Santa's Grotto from 4 PM to 7 PM. Santa and his elves will be on hand to listen to Christmas wishes and hand out small gifts. Don't forget to bring your camera for a memorable photo opportunity!

  • Live Entertainment: Enjoy live performances from local choirs, bands, and dance groups throughout the evening. The main stage will feature a special performance by the Gormsey Community Choir at 6 PM, singing all your favourite Christmas carols.

  • Tree Lighting Ceremony: The highlight of the evening will be the grand tree lighting ceremony at 7:30 PM. Join the Mayor of Gormsey as we illuminate the town's magnificent Christmas tree, followed by a spectacular fireworks display.

  • Food and Drink: Warm up with a variety of food and drink options available from local vendors. From mulled wine and hot chocolate to savoury snacks and sweet treats, there's something to satisfy every palate.

Community Spirit:

This event is a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate the holiday season. Gormsey Parish Council encourages everyone to participate and make this year's Christmas Extravaganza the best one yet.

Volunteers Needed:

We are looking for volunteers to help with various aspects of the event, including setting up, assisting at Santa's Grotto, and helping with the clean-up. If you're interested in volunteering, please contact the Parish Council office.
